Michael Burda

Affiliation: Humboldt University and CEPR Michael Burda is Professor of Economics at Humboldt University of Berlin. He previously taught at INSEAD, and Berkeley. His research centers on macroeconomics and the economics of labour markets. With Charles Wyplosz, he is the author of the textbook "Macroeconomics: A European Text" (Oxford University Press), which is now in second edition and translated into eight languages. He has published papers on the economic origins and impacts of labour market institutions, economic integration, employment and wages, and globalisation, as well as the transformation of Eastern and Central Europe and the former German Democratic Republic. In 1998 he received the Gossen Prize of the Verein für Socialpolitik. He received his BA, MA and PhD (1987) at Harvard. |
